The Boyd Foundation Horticultural Center and state-of-the-art greenhouse is located on the grounds of the Historic Hampton-Preston Mansion and features a three-quarter span glass house that runs the full length of the structure. The facility includes a production greenhouse, a central orientation lobby, and an interpretive greenhouse, all supported by an aluminum frame with insulated clear glass and an advanced electronic climate management system. The primary structure is constructed with cast-in-place concrete and CMU with a stucco finish, while a hexagonal gatehouse—modeled after a mid-19th century structure once on the property—has been reconstructed along the Pickens Street wall using powder-coated aluminum walls and a Davinci polymer slate roof system. The site also includes a garden support area with a shade structure to accommodate the propagation program.
